Herbs

I finally got around to sowing the herbs for summer:

Basil Sweet Green
Coriander
Dill
Mint (in its own pot)
Oregano
Thyme Old English

The Asparagus is beginning to grow, I noticed 4 spears growing tall out of the compost 🙂

Wednesday afternoon, I intend to sow in 3 inch coffee cups:

Dwarf French Bean ‘Slenderette‘ 2cups x 3 beans, then grow onwards. Here is the blurb:

Germination time: 7-14 days
Planting Depth:2 inch
Spacing, Row:18 inches
Spacing, Seeds:4-6 inches
Light:Sunny Location
  • For an early crop sow in warmth in mid spring 6 weeks before the last expected frost in your area.
  • Sow seeds individually in 7.5cm (3in) pots at 18-21C (65-70F).
  • Otherwise sow outdoors 4-6 in between seeds when the soil has warmed during late spring after all danger of frost as they are sensitive to low soil temperatures.
  • Keep weed free and protect from pests whilst young.
  • Do not require support.
  • Harvest as pods are ripe, the plants should continue to flower if picked steadily.

Pea Kelvedon Wonder 3 cups x 3 peas then will be sown in the trough by the asparagus

Courgette will be sown – 3 cups x 3 beans in the trough by the Dwarf Beans and if I get to it, transfer the Rhubarb, need to hydrate it first! This will go in the container by the end of the 2nd Veg Trough.

I will have to find space for the Tomatoes and the Brussels Sprouts – in the black pots, maybe, and I haven’t a clue where to plant the Cucumbers yet!
