Extra Energy Sunday and Monday
Over the last few days I have been splitting shop bought herb plants into more plants to grow outside. Namely Basil, Coriander, Parsley, Rosemary and Thyme. All the herbs that smell fantastic.
I have also sown French Climbing Bean Blue Lake x 15 into black pots before they are planted in the bean bag and Courgette Black Beauty x 6 to grow in the green pots until they are ready to go into the large terracotta pot – grown vertically up 6ft canes to save space.
I have sown several Pea Hurst Green Shaft seeds into the pea bag and the canes will need to be added soon. The Parsnip White Gem have gone into 2 light green bags and Carrot Early Nantes 2 have been sown in the other light green bag.
The Tomato Gardeners Delight seeds have been sown into a large black pots, as has the Tomato Tigerella directly sowing them (Approx 5 seeds each pot)
There are 2 large troughs where I will directly sow the Swede Brora and Broccoli Autumn Calabrese in 1 trough.
Salad Leaves:
Lettuce Riccia Rossa Da Taglio, Salad Leaves Speedy Mix, Radish Flamboyant 3 and Wild Rocket. The salad items will be sown in large individual pots soon.
Flower Seeds
I have to sow the following flower seeds within the next week or so: Tagetes Orange, Sunflowers, Sweet Marjoram, Lemon Balm, Cosmos, Poppy, Seeds for Bees in either pots or the other trough.
In the Trugs
The seeds that I have already sown are germinating well and I have also managed to do a little bit more weeding as I go.
The Peas (Hurst Green Shaft seeds) will need to have reinstated the canes to form a wigwam. The Blue Lake Beans will be planted out in June and I will reinstate the canes to form another wigwam. I would prefer to trellis them, but I don’t think that will happen this season, maybe next year? (See images in gardening folder on desktop)
