herbs

First Saturday in September

It is a very warm but cloudy day today so I decided to get off my bum and to plant up the herb plugs.

One of them is in a very sorry state, but I have repotted it with the rest of them and will keep my fingers crossed.

Hurray! I found the plant – a Clematis, that Emma bought me 🙂

So I have repotted it into a larger pot, gave it a good drink then placed it by the jasmine archway, I may put it somewhere else when it is a bit bigger and run it up the house wall by the kitchen.

I have still lots to do, the weeds are starting to win again and i have to deadhead the ivy geranium, the Petunia needs digging up and I will put the Blackberry Patio Black in the pot. (this was done this afternoon).

This will still leave me the purple pot for when the clematis has grown a bit more, next spring/summer probably.

Once all that has been sorted, I will need to get rid of what’s left of the peas and beans and get them ready for the kale plants I want to put in their place. Scrap that, I have ordered 10 x Kale plants and 10 x Spring cabbage plants from Rocket Gardens, delivery between now and late October.

I removed the beans from the bean bag and put them in the compost bin, along with the weeds that I pulled up.

Tomorrow, I will finish the rest of the weeding, apart from the weed growing through the bark, which I pulled up today.

The roses are looking and smelling great and i have harvested a few small tomatoes 🙂

So, I need to get my gloves on and get rid of some weeds and maybe put down the black weed sheet on the right hand side of the garden to prevent more weeds coming up.

The left hand side of the garden also needs some weed suppression but i don’t have any more sheets., I could use the empty compost bags, but that would look tacky 🙁
