Sunny Spring Day

digging the plotThe Asparagus Guelph Equinox  arrived yesterday, so today I went outside to plant them in one of the dog troughs.

It was lovely to feel the breeze on my skin and the sun shining down into the garden. After 3 weeks of social isolation it felt good to be outside, if only in my garden.

I have a lot to do, weeds need removing and I need to get seeds sown. The propagator gave me a sense of being the great gardener but I clearly should have left the seedlings alone to grow more leaves before transplanting them on. So, I will have to resow the tomato, sweet pepper and chilli seeds, this week.

I will be sowing 3 herb seeds: Basil, Thyme and Oregano and salad items: lettuce, cucumber, radish, rocket in one of the veg trugs. I have 3 dog troughs left for cabbages, caulis and peas.

Now that I have spent an hour in the garden, I must keep this up every day, it makes me feel better especially with all the doom and gloom due to the Coronavirus
