Sunday Gardening

The Geraniums and Lobelia had arrived on Friday, but I didn’t feel like potting them on until today.

I made room for them in several big pots, but I may move them into the new black pots coming on Wednesday/Thursday.

Once they were done, I potted on the 2 tomato plants and re-potted the smaller one, as I did with what seems to be the last of the Busy Lizzie (Imara).

Then I got rid of the rest of the weeds around the lavender and mulched it with some soil from an old container, it also had a sprinkling of blood, fish and bone fertiliser, as did the strawberries.

Lewis came over the other Friday and tilled the earth ready for seeding the new Lawn, I hope it germinates and grows well.

All I have to do now is plant the sprout seedling into the other end of the dog trough that is growing, peas and potatoes which are growing well.

I need to get some kind of trellis or grow lines for the peas so they can shoot up (no pun intended).

With the new containers and the plants I can stand them on the round stones at intervals and the grass can grow around the stones – may be even get some pebbles to fill in the difference from the earth to the round stones.

In the veg trug, the only thing happening at the moment is the Radish ‘French Breakfast’ , which is good but a bit disheartening for the other seeds I planted. Never mind, I will keep my fingers crossed as it has been practically sunless for a few days 🙁

Still, I have plenty of seeds to sow and no doubt that will mean I will be busy next weekend.

These include: Lavender, Sweet Peas, Petunias …

On Friday, I re-potted the Acer Palmatum into a larger black pot, making the plant look very fetching, even though I say so, myself.

As for the Basil, some of it has died off, and I have about 3 plants that have survived.

I bought another thyme plant and re-potted that into a much larger pot, it certainly needed it
