courgette flower

Tuesday Gardening

It’s a lovely day and I am taking a few minutes to sow some Courgettes Black Beauty seeds in the dog trough. (x 6)

I have grown these before and they are great as long as you harvest regularly, which is just as well because we like using them in our meals 🙂

They are easy to grow, just sow the seeds on their sides, keep watering, especially in hot weather, but don’t make them soggy!

Holbury Hardware is delivering 6 x Levington Compost with added John Innes, but they haven’t arrived as yet – these bags will be very useful for all the flower seeds I am going to sow. The 10 x 25cm pots will be arriving on Thursday.

I also have the spouts seedling to plant next to the Potato plant, nearest to the greenhouse, (which needs some more compost around it – done!).

Looking in the Veg trug, I spotted some carrot seedlings – I am so pleased as I thought the seeds were duds, they obviously needed a little more sunshine and warmth.

The red onion sets have sprouted too, so the birds haven’t pecked at them either.

Then it is back to work again 🙁
